the thousands of serious and debilitating
accidental injuries incurred by children 14 and under through
education and injury prevention.
FACTS
More children are killed due to unintentional injuries
than all childhood diseases combined.
Ninety percent of all childhood injuries are preventable.
This year 13 million children will be hurt seriously
enough to require medical attention.

near the telephon

  Safe Kids Mississippi:
1-Provides safety information;
2-Promotes safety practices with Safe Kids' Mascot, KIDDO
the safety kangaroo, which is a main attraction for preschoolers;
3-Participates in safety presentations for children and adults; and
4-Advocates for protection programs to make the world a safer place for children

The Major Injury Risk Areas for Children ages 14 and under are:
1. Motor vehicle injury--motor vehicle occupant,
     pedestrian, bicyclist;
2.  Fire and burns;
3.  Drowning and near-drowning;
4.  Poisonings and choking;
5.  Unintentional firearm shootings; and
6.  Falls.





Each year in the United States, more children die from
preventable injuries than from all pediatric diseases combine.
Many of thenonfatal cases result in serious, long term disability.
Safe Kids Mississippi is a 501c 3, nonprofit organization
dedicated to reducing childhood injury and death from
unintentional causes. Your tax deductible donations will
